Spanish winemaker Codorníu has launched a range of 8%-ABV sparkling and still wines as “demand for low-alcohol beverages continues to gain momentum”.
The fresh additions (below) include a sparkling blend as well as a still white, a rosé and a red, all of which are produced using a “delicate partial dealcoholisation process” at low temperatures, known as a ‘GoLo System’. Three new non-alcoholic wines also join Codorníu’s existing sparkling alcohol-free line up, with the launch of a white, a rosé and a red, with UK listings expected later this year.
The 8%-ABV products, made with grapes from vineyards in Catalonia, are available for purchase via online retailer Ocado at an SRP of GBP7 (US$9.30) per 70cl bottle.
In April, another sparkling wine business made with an eye on moderation trends: Henkell Freixenet bolstered its alcohol-free sparkling wine portfolio with two additions to its Freixenet brand.
