Paul Ross will make way in July, prompting the two moves.

Edrington has lined up a change of MD at its Americas division, with global travel retail chief Jeremy Speirs poised to take the reins.

Speirs (below), who has been with the Macallan owner since 2002, will move across from his current role as regional MD for Edrington’s global travel retail operations. He will replace Paul Ross, who has overseen the Americas for almost four years, in July and will be based out of New York.

Once he steps down, Ross “will continue to work with Edrington as a senior advisor on corporate projects”, according to the company.

Taking over as MD of Edrington Global Travel Retail will be Kasper Andersen (below), the current MD of the Nordics & Germany. Andersen transitioned from the Maxxium co-marketing venture to the group in 2011, taking on the regional lead in northern Europe seven years ago.

“The Americas is Edrington’s largest market, and I am grateful to Paul for his leadership during a challenging trading period,” said Edrington’s MD for The Macallan, Igor Boyadjian. “Jeremy’s financial and commercial expertise will be invaluable as we continue to establish ourselves as a world leader in ultra-premium spirits.”

As part of its increased focus on the higher-end, Edrington offloaded The Famous Grouse to William Grant & Sons in September. The sale, for an undisclosed sum, saw the brand join the Grant’s and Monkey Shoulder brands in William Grant’s blended scotch stable.
