Jackson Family Wines is launching its first range of wines from France’s Loire Valley.
The four-strong line, under the Passerelles brand name, will include two sauvignon blancs from Touraine Oisly and Sancerre, as well as a chenin blanc from Anjou and a cabernet franc from Saumur. The suggested retail prices per 75cl bottle range from US$25 to $40 each.
The privately-owned group is expanding its global footprint, which comprises around 40 wineries from the US and Canada to Australia and Chile, with the launch. Proprietor Barbara Banke said the company has “seen a global explosion in consumer interest in all” the renowned varieties from the Loire Valley.
Last year, the California-headquartered group spelt out its intention to head to the UK, looking to acquire vineyard land in the south-east of England.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the business partnered its Kendall-Jackson brand with artist Victor Solomon to design the labels for the National Basketball Association’s first co-branded wines.
