The Wine Paris trade show has surpassed its main rival, ProWein, for visitor numbers ahead of the latter’s event next month.
According to organiser Vinexposium, the three-day exhibition in the French capital earlier this week was attended by approaching 53,000 visitors. The figure marks a high for Wine Paris, which until last year was called ‘Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris’.
The performance lays down the gauntlet for ProWein next month. The trade show, which takes place annually in Düsseldorf, Germany, registered 61,500 visitors back in 2019 but has been unable to reach that level since; In 2024, the show’s visitor numbers were impacted by industrial action on local public transport for the second consecutive year, slipping by 4% to 47,000.
“Over the years, Wine Paris has established itself as a vital source of influence worldwide,” said Vinexposium CEO Rodolphe Lameyse. “More than ever, the 2025 edition has played a crucial role for both national and international stakeholders in the wine and spirits industry.”
ProWein returns to Düsseldorf from 16-18 March.
