An interesting paradox characterises the on-premise in Prague: although there are fewer customers than ever before, and they don’t drink as much as they used to, new establishments - often ones with very ambitious concepts - are on the rise. Including those that serve exclusively cocktails.

Czechia’s reputation as a beer market is legendary, thanks in no small part to the country’s position at number one for per-capita consumption. But cocktail culture is thriving in the capital – which is just as well, as beer consumption in the on-premise is falling rapidly.
