Chandrashekar, who has been the group’s financial lead based at its London headquarters since mid-2021, will step aside “in the Autumn”, Diageo said today. Her decision will bring to an end a six-year term that included three years with the company’s North American division, also as CFO.
Lined up as her replacement is Nik Jhangiani, currently the finance chief at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.
Jhangiani has spent 20 years of his professional career in the Coca-Cola system, dating back to 2000 when he started as group CFO with Coca-Cola HBC in Greece. Bar almost three years in India, where he took on the same role at Bharti Enterprises, he has also spent time with Coca-Cola Enterprises before assuming his current position in mid-2016.
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners came into being three years ago after Coca-Cola European Partners acquired Coca-Cola Amatil in Australasia in early 2021.
One of Diageo’s former CFOs has made the headlines this week as US-based wine group The Duckhorn Portfolio appointed Deirdre Mahlan as its permanent CEO.
