Vintage Wine Estates has confirmed the recruitment of a former Kraft Heinz Co executive to be its CMO.
Ryan Watson commences in his new role with the US wine company next week. When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a company spokesperson confirmed that the position has been newly created.

According to VWE, Watson will be charged with “[leading] the effort to drive consumer- and demand-centric thinking across the enterprise with responsibilities for insights, data & analytics, brands, innovation and portfolio management, DTC and digital strategy as well as design, public relations and communications”.
Prior to his two years as a partner at US-based Boston Consulting Group, which commenced at the start of 2022, Watson was CMO for angling business Catch Co. He also spent just over two years with Kraft Heinz, rising to become head of media platforms & marketing AI before joining Catch four years ago.
Current CEO Seth Kaufman, who started in post late last year, pledged to “turn the business around” following a particularly troublesome 12 months.
