Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 13 November.

Campari Group’s Ancho Reyes Barrica aged chile liqueur

  • Liqueur, Ancho chiles macerated in neutral cane spirit then aged for two years in ex-bourbon casks, 40% ABV
  • Released this week online in the US
  • SRP of US$60 per 75cl bottle
Barrica is the first extension of Ancho Reyes since Campari Group bought control of the brand four years ago

Boisset Collection & the Beckmann Gonzalez family’s Casa Obsidiana

  • Tequila, blue weber agave. Range comprises blanco, reposado, and añejo expressions, aged in ex-French wine barrels from Boisset’s wineries in the country
  • Released online in the US this week ahead of on- and off-premise availability in California and Texas
  • SRPs of US$190 (blanco), $250 (reposado) and $330 (añejo) per 75cl ceramic bottle
The ceramic bottles for all three iterations in the Casa Osidiana line feature a piece of obsidian volcanic stone

Fair Liqueur flavour extensions

  • Liqueurs, Açai Berry and Elderflower flavours, 22% ABV
  • Released in the UK this week
  • SRPs of GBP30 (US$37) for Açai, GBP28 for Elderflower, both per 70cl bottle
The Fair Trade-certified brand, which also extends to a gin, a rum and a vodka, has upped its liqueur stable to six variants

The Rolling Stones and Socio Ventures’ Crossfire Hurricane Caribbean rum

  • Rum, containing liquid sourced from distilleries in Barbados, Dominican Republic and Jamaica that has been matured for up to five years, 40% ABV
  • Available online in the US this week ahead of wider off-premise release in selected states early next year
  • SRP of US$37 per 70cl bottle
Taking its name from the opening line of Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Crossfire Hurricane is the Rolling Stones’ “first ever premium spirits brand”

Pernod Ricard’s Method and Madness Single Malt 7 Year Old Irish whiskey

  • Irish whiskey, single malt, seven years old, 46% ABV
  • On sale from this week in markets including France, Ireland, Norway, Northern Ireland and in the global travel retail channel
  • SRP of EUR95 (US$102) per 70cl bottle. Available in limited, albeit unspecified, numbers
This addition to the Method and Madness brand is the first single malt from its micro-distillery in Pernod Ricard’s Jameson home of Midleton near Cork

Proof & Wood Ventures’ The Cabinet 2023 American whiskey

  • American whiskey, blend of Bourbons and rye whiskies aged for between five and nine years, 56.26% ABV
  • Rolling out across the US to “over 30” markets this month
  • SRP of US$124.99 per 75cl bottle, limited to 3,600 units
The whiskies in this year’s bottling of The Cabinet, which follows last year’s debut iteration, were distilled in Indiana then aged, blended and bottled in Kentucky

Moët Hennessy’s Ardbeg The Rollercoaster single malts

  • Scotch whisky, single malts, Islands, 42 and 33 years old
  • On sale from this week exclusively to members of Moët Hennessy’s ‘Private Client’ channel
  • Priced at EUR100,000 (US$106,900) per two-bottle set, limited to 143 units
The older expression of the duo was distilled in 1981, the year the Ardbeg distillery closed, with the younger dating from when the Islay-based facility reopened eight years later

The Gleneagles Hotel’s The Glenturret 11 Year Old single malt

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Highland, 11 years old, 46.4% ABV
  • On sale at the hotel itself in ‘The Still Room’
  • SRP of GBP125 (US$152) per 70cl bottle, limited to 750 numbered units
Included with each purchase is the offer of a complimentary tour of Glenturret’s distillery, which is 15 miles from Gleneagles

Diageo’s George Dickel Dickel Bourbon Aged 18 Years

  • American whiskey, Bourbon, Tennessee, 18 years old, 45% ABV
  • Released to selected markets in the US this week
  • SRP of $510 per 70cl bottle. On sale in limited – unspecified – quantities
The mash bill for this 18-year-old expression comprises 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley

El Negocio Tequila

  • Tequila, blanco, 40% ABV
  • Rolled out in the US at the start of this month
  • SRP of $90 per 75cl individually-numbered bottle. Batch one comprises around 8,400 units
El Negocio – ‘The Business’ in Spanish – is sourced from agave grown in Zona Valles in the Jalisco lowlands. A reposado ($120 per bottle) and a joven ($200) both aged in ex-Memento Mori Winery barrels, will follow later this year

Mile High Spirits’ Cuidado Almond Tequila

  • Tequila, flavoured, 40% ABV. “Infused with natural almond flavour”
  • Available since last week in the US, initially at Mile High’s on-premise outlet in Denver
  • SRP of $30 per 75cl bottle. On sale for a limited – albeit unspecified – period
Cuidado Tequila, which hails from Jalisco and is cut with water from the Rocky Mountains, has a limited-edition, almond-flavoured sibling in the US

Chemist Spirits’ Old Edwards Discovery Gin

  • Gin, US, North Carolina, 45% ABV. Botanical mix includes wild juniper grown in the state
  • On sale in North Carolina’s off-premise channel through Alcoholic Beverage Control outlets since last week. Also available online in the state
  • SRP of $42 per 75cl bottle
Bottle of Old Edwards Discovery Gin
A per-bottle donation from the new gin will go to the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust, which “protects and conserves more than 4,000 acres across the Southern Appalachians” in North Carolina
