Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 30 October.

Frey Ranch Distillery’s Frey Ranch American Single Malt Smoked Whiskey

  • American whiskey, single malt, Nevada. Aged for six years and seven months, 55% ABV
  • On sale online in the US through the company’s official website
  • SRP of US$59 per 37.5cl bottle
Produced using barley that has been grown on the Frey Ranch farm in Fallon, Nevada, this single malt is the first expression in the company’s ‘Smoked Series’

Diageo’s Crown Royal Aged 30 Years Canadian whisky

  • Canadian whisky, 30 years old, 46% ABV
  • On sale from 1 November in the US in Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas. Available in limited numbers
  • SRP of US$499 per 75cl bottle
The next expression in Crown Royal’s ‘Extra Rare’ series is the brand’s oldest bottling to date

Diageo’s Talisker Glacial Edge 45-Year-Old single malt

  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Islands, 45 years old, 49.8% ABV
  • Released worldwide this week with 2,455 bottles available in total. On sale from selected off-premise spirits specialists and online
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP4,500 [US$5,470] per 70cl bottle
Twelve barrels of 45-year-old single malt from Talisker had their ends removed for 96 hours in “Canada’s ice fields”, prompting the” extreme cold to fracture the wood”

Pernod Ricard’s Altos Infusionado infused Tequilas

  • Tequila, flavoured. Cítricos features mandarin and lemon, Café Natural has coffee, cinnamon and Mexican piloncillo flavours. Both 35% ABV
  • Launching this week in Mexico, on sale in both the on- and off-premise channels
  • SRPs of MXN750 [US$41.40] per 70cl bottle
The flavours, sourced from natural ingredients, are added during the second round of distillation for Altos, with the debut pair designed to appeal to “a new generation of modern Tequila drinkers”

Campari Group’s Wild Turkey Generations Bourbon

  • American whiskey, Bourbon, comprising a blend of nine-, 12-, 14- and 15-year-old Bourbons. 60.4% ABV
  • On sale this week in the US via “select retailers nationwide”
  • SRP of $450 per 75cl bottle, around 5,000 units available
The blend has been put together by Jimmy, Eddie and Bruce Russell, three generations of the same family that have worked – or are working – at the Wild Turkey distillery in Kentucky

Los Magos 6 Year Reserva sotol

  • Sotol, six years old, 42% ABV
  • Released in the US this week to select off-premise operators. Also on sale online from the Los Magos website
  • SRP of $299.99 per 75cl bottle. Limited to around 450 units available in total
A total of six barrels of the 6 Year Reserva extension of the Los Magos sotol were produced
