The first senior executive move has been lined up at Beam Suntory ahead of the group’s pending leadership switch.
Prior to Greg Hughes replacing Albert Baladi as CEO at the start of next month, the Jim Beam brand owner is “bringing our IT, digital strategy, delivery and experience teams under one leader”. Hernán Tabah will come on board as the company’s first chief digital & technology officer, moving across from his current role as chief digital officer at tobacco corporation Altria Group.

Reporting in to Hughes and sitting on the executive leadership team, Tabah will lead on “accelerating Beam Suntory’s enterprise digital, data and end-to-end technology strategy”.
“Digital transformation is one of the key enablers to achieving our 2030 goals … , ” said Hughes. “With nearly 25 years’ experience leading digital and technology transformations at global consumer goods companies, Hernán is the perfect fit … .”
Speaking to Global Drinks Intel in July, outgoing CEO Baladi confirmed that a consolidation of its brand portfolio will continue to be part of its wider strategy going forward.
