This year’s line of limited-edition single malts from Diageo features a debut from the group’s Roseisle distillery in Scotland’s Speyside region.
The annual ‘Special Releases’ series, which started back in 2001, returns with eight expressions ranging in price from GBP120 [US$128] to GBP340. While a limited number of each bottling is available, specific figures were not disclosed.
The single malt from Roseisle marks the first from the distillery since its construction was finished in 2009. The 12-year-old single malt is one of the cheapest in the 'Spirited Xchange' range, alongside an iteration from Diageo's Talisker distillery on the island of Skye that has been finished in ex-casks from three different types of port.
At the other end of the price scale is a 27-year-old whisky from Glenkinchie at GBP340 per unit.
This year's Special Releases have gone on sale online this week ahead of wider availability through the off-premise channel in Australia, Canada, Europe, the US, "selected markets" in Asia and in global travel retail.
