Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 11 September.
Mackmyra Svensk Whisky’s Mackmyra No 001 20-year-old Swedish single malt whisky
- Whisky, single malt, Sweden, 20 years old. Aged in ex-bourbon casks “50 metres underground in the Bodås mine”, 46.3% ABV
- Released domestically through Systembolaget’s retail network next week, as well as to “selected” export markets
- SRP not specified. Limited to 238 units

Diageo’s Prima & Ultima single malt Scotch whiskies 2023
- Scotch whiskies, single malts
- On sale online for worldwide delivery through a registration page that opens today [13 September] until 11 October
- SRP for the full set of GBP45,580 [US$57,000], all in 70cl bottles. “Individual bottlings … are also available”
This year’s series comprises:
- Brora 1977 45-Year-Old – 48.2% ABV, 794 units
- Clynelish 1996 26-Year-Old – 52% ABV, 889 units
- Lagavulin 1997 25-Year-Old – 50.7% ABV, 625 units
- Pittyvaich 1992 30-Year-Old – 55.5% ABV, 609 units
- Oban 1996 26-Year-Old – 55.2% ABV, 428 units
- Port Ellen 1978 43-Year-Old – 53.4% ABV, 413 units
- The Singleton of Dufftown 1985 37-Year-Old – 47.7% ABV, 511 units
- Talisker 1976 46-Year-Old – 50.9% ABV, 771 units

Pernod Ricard’s Redbreast Tawny Port Cask Edition Irish whiskey
- Irish whiskey, single pot still, no age statement, 46% ABV
- On sale from 18 September in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ireland, the UK and the US as well as in the global travel retail channel and online
- In the US, SRP of US$100 per 75cl bottle. Available in limited – albeit unspecified – quantities

Diageo’s Johnnie Walker Blue Label Xordinaire blended Scotch
- Scotch whisky, blended, 40% ABV
- Global Travel Retail-exclusive, debuts this week in Terminal 1 of Singapore’s Changi Airport ahead of wider roll-out to Dubai, Hainan, London, Paris and Taiwan
- In the US, SRP of US$399 per 1-litre bottle

Foley Family Wines’ Charles Goodnight Bourbon
- American whiskey, Straight Bourbon, Texas, six years old, 57.5% ABV
- Released in the US this week
- SRP of US$79.99 per 75cl bottle

Barrell Craft Spirits’ Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish Series
- American whiskey, Straight Bourbons. Amburana is a blend of Indiana and Kentucky Bourbons aged between five and ten years that has been finished in amburana casks. A Tale of Two Islands comprises Bourbons from Indiana and Maryland [five to nine years old] finished in casks previously used by BCS’s Tale of Two Islands rum, which was sourced from Jamaica and aged in ex-Scotch whisky casks from Islay
- Released to the US off-premise channel this month, also on sale online
- Both carry an SRP of US$89.99 per 75cl bottle. Available in limited [unspecified] quantities

Whyte & Mackay’s Fettercairn 16 Year Old single malt
- Scotch whisky, single malt, Highland, 16 years old, 46.4% ABV
- On sale this month through off-premise spirits specialists in markets including France, Germany and the UK. Also available in “selected” markets via the global travel retail channel in 1-litre bottles
- In the UK, SRP of GBP82 [US$102] per 70cl bottle
