Sparkling wine giant Henkell Freixenet is offering north German travellers a pre-flight tasting of its namesake brand as the summer holiday season kicks off.
A display, dubbed the ‘Henkell Impulse Podium’, will promote the German sekt at Hamburg Airport during July and August. As well as featuring several SKUs from the brand, the pop-up will also provide tasting opportunities for Henkell Rosé and Henkell Brut Vintage, neither of which are on sale domestically.
The concept is running in partnership with global travel retail operator Heinemann.
Despite hitting a top-line record in its most recent financial year, with 2022 sales rising 8.5% to EUR1.18bn [then-US$1.29bn], Henkell Freixenet warned in May of “continuing uncertainty among customers, suppliers and consumers” this year.
“The overall conditions for the current year 2023 will remain very challenging,” the group said.
