Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 10 July.

Maximilian Arasin and Prestige Beverage Group’s Lana Tequila Blanco

Positioned as an “ultra-luxury” brand, Lana’s blanco expression will be joined by a Reposado, retailing for US$99, later this month
  • Tequila, 100% Blue Weber agave, blanco, 40% ABV
  • On sale now in the US, initially in Florida, Nevada and New York’s on- and off-premise channels
  • SRP of US$79 per 75cl bottle

Bacardi’s Aberfeldy 25 Year Old Finished in Red/White Wine Jupille Casks single malts

The first 50 purchasers to buy both expressions from Aberfeldy’s ‘Exceptional Cask Series’ will receive a two-bottle display case
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Highland, 25 years old. Both finished in casks from Château Jupille-Carillon in Saint-Émilion, France. Both 52% ABV
  • Released this week in the global travel retail channel as an exclusive with China Duty Free Group
  • SRPs of US$525 each, both limited to 270 units

Campari Group’s Forty Creek Butter Tart Cream whisky liqueur

Butter Tart joins the Original Cream and the chocolate/coconut-flavoured Nanaimo Bar in Forty Creek’s cream liqueur line
  • Cream liqueur, Canadian whisky-based, 15% ABV
  • Launched in Canada this week, starting with Ontario’s off-premise through LCBO stores. Extending to other provinces in the country later in the year
  • SRP of CAD32.75 [US$24.90] per 75cl bottle

Ginmeister’s Pinkster Light English Spritz RTD

Debuting in 2013, the Pinkster gin brand has a ready-to-serve sibling in the 4% ABV Light English Spritz
  • RTD, sparkling, gin-based. Production process features “gin-soaked raspberries”, 4% ABV
  • Released this week available to both the on- and off-premise, also on sale online
  • SRP of GBP15 [US$19.60] per 75cl bottle

John Paul Jones’ Providence rum

Taking its name from the co-founder of the US Navy, John Paul Jones infuses a white rum with Scottish seaweed and, for this new iteration, finishes the spirit in a cask from Laphroaig on the island of Islay
  • Rum, Caribbean, finished for 18 months in an ex-Scotch whisky quarter cask from the Laphroaig distillery on Islay, 47.5% ABV
  • Available on the company’s website since late last month
  • SRP of GBP80 [US$104] per 70cl bottle, limited to 156 numbered bottles

Gordon & MacPhail’s Benromach Contrasts series, Air Dried Oak & Kiln Dried Oak single malts

Benromach’s ‘Contrasts’ range has two new additions, one aged in casks whose staves have been air-dried for three years, the other spending time in casks air-dried for two years and then dried further in a kiln
  • Scotch whiskies, single malts, Speyside. Nine years old, both 46% ABV
  • Released this month in the UK to e-commerce operators. Also on sale from the brand’s official website
  • SRP for both of GBP59.99 [US$77] per 70cl bottles. Available in limited numbers

 The GlenAllachie 30-year-old Cask Strength Batch 3 single malt

The oldest iteration in Glenallachie’s core range is back with its third batch
  • Scotch whisky, single malt, Speyside, 30 years old, 48.9% ABV
  • Available worldwide this month through spirits specialists in the off-premise channel, limited to 2,400 units
  • In the UK, SRP of GBP670 [US$859] per 75cl bottle

Bacardi’s Tequila Cazadores Café

Comprising a base of Cazadores’ blanco expression, the coffee extension is hitting the US now
  • Tequila-based liqueur, coffee-flavoured, 33% ABV
  • Launching nationwide in the US this week, also available online in the country
  • SRP of US$29.99 per 75cl bottle

Diageo’s Black Dog Keira Knightley Edition blended Scotch

UK actor Keira Knightley played a role in creating the new iteration, which is aimed at “the next-generation young achievers” in India
  • Scotch whisky, blended, no age statement, finished in ex-“premium” red wine casks, ABV not specified
  • Launching in India this month, “only at very select outlets”
  • SRP not specified, positioned as “premium”, limited to 10,000 cases in total
