Operators in the on-premise channel have a major long-term sales opportunity from adding alcohol sales to the home delivery of food, according to a report from the US.
A survey of legal drinking age-plus consumers by the country's National Restaurant Association found that only a quarter of food orders for takeout or delivery during the last six months included beverage alcohol orders. The survey also concluded that 54% of those who ordered food said "the availability of alcohol beverages would make them more likely to choose a restaurant".
