Molson Coors Beverage Co is set to flex its ‘multi-category’ muscles through the creation of both a new senior commercial role and a “centralised commercial function in its Americas business unit”.
The group has confirmed the transition of current CMO Michelle St Jacques to the position of chief commercial officer. St Jacques, who has held the marketing lead for four years, will make way for Sofia Colucci, who moves up from global VP for the Miller & ‘economy’ portfolios.
Also announced this week was the departure of emerging growth president Pete Marino “after successfully bringing Molson Coors into new categories and bringing brands like ZOA Energy and Five Trail whiskey to a point where they are ready to scale”.
Coinciding with the executive changes is the commercial centralisation in the Americas. Bringing together the sales, marketing, innovation and digital strategy operations for the US, Canada and Latin America is designed to “ensure the ‘beyond beer’ portfolio can fully benefit from the resources of the larger commercial structure”, according to Molson Coors.
Last month, the group reported a 7% year-on-year sales increase from the 12 months of 2022.
