Cuervo’s Bushmills brand is running an online auction this week, highlighting the Irish whiskey’s annual ‘Causeway Collection’ series.
Twelve 5cl miniatures, featuring each of the bottlings from last year’s line, have been bundled in “one place for the first and only time”, according to Cuervo’s Proximo unit, which oversees Bushmills. The series, which built on 2020’s two-expression debut with 12 releases last year, comprises cask-finished single malts distilled as far back as 32 years ago.
Three auctions, each open for an hour, will run on Bushmills’ website from tomorrow [7 December] until 10 December, with the sale proceeds from all 12 sets going to local charity The Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust. When contacted by Global Drinks Intel, a brand spokesperson said the reserve price has been set at GBP400 [US$490] per set.
The 2022 Causeway Collection, unveiled in July, features ten bottlings, ranging in price from EUR90 [then-US$91] to EUR1,200 per unit.
