Here’s a round-up of the new launches from spirits brand owners in the week commencing 24 October.

Redwood Empire Whiskey Cask Strength Collection

The new editions of Pipe Dream Bourbon, Emerald Giant rye and Lost Monarch rye & Bourbon blend are all bottled at cask strength
  • American whiskey, California, between 58.2% and 58.6% ABVs
  • Rolling out in the US this month in limited numbers
  • SRP of US$70 per 75cl bottle

Grain & Barrel Spirits’ Chicken Cock Chanticleer American whiskey

Chanticleer is the second “holiday release” from the brand, one year on from Chicken Cock Cotton Club Rye
  • American whiskey, Bourbon, Kentucky Straight, finished in ex-Cognac barrels, 56% ABV
  • Available from this month in the US as well as online at Chicken Cock’s website
  • SRP of US$499 per 75cl bottle in “limited quantities” [32 barrels were produced]

Edrington’s The Macallan ‘Harmony Collection’ 2022 additions

Debuting last year, The Harmony Collection returns with two coffee-themed expressions
  • Scotch whisky, single malts, no age statements. Smooth Arabica has an ABV of 40%, Inspired by Intense Arabica is 44%
  • Smooth Arabica set for Global Travel Retail release next month, Inspired by Intense Arabica rolls out globally this month to domestic markets
  • SRP of US$185 per bottle for both iterations, available in limited – albeit unspecified – numbers

Beam Suntory’s Bowmore The Changeling single malts

The second round of iterations from Bowmore’s ‘The Changeling’ series includes a 33-year-old [left] and a 22-year-old single malt
  • Scotch whisky, single malts, 22-year-old matured for 20 years in American oak hogsheads and finished in ex-white Port casks, 33-year-old aged in ex-Bourbon casks for 31.5 years then finished in ex-Tawny Port casks
  • Launching exclusively in Global Travel Retail channel: available in Hainan Downtown as well as through airport outlets in Paris, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Hong-Kong, Macau, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, London Heathrow and New York
  • SRP of The Changeling 22 Year Old – 51.2% ABV – US$440, limited to 6,667 units. The Changeling 33 Year Old has an ABV of 48.7%, an SRP of $3,300 and is limited to 667 bottles

Dictador Colombian rum’s Mopa Mopa

The second expression in the ‘Totem Collection’ is named after a resin collected by hand from trees in western South America
  • Rum, Colombian, aged between 34 and 40 years in ex-Bourbon, -Port and -Sherry casks, 40%-57% ABV
  • Available from this week on the Dictador website
  • Priced between EUR3,600 (US$3,550) and EUR4,800 per individually-decorated bottle, limited to 360 units
