Amber Beverage Group has switched distributors in Canada, moving across from Mark Anthony Group to The Dandurand Group.
The change, announced this week, takes immediate effect with Amber looking to extend its reach in the country on a geographical basis. The company has also expressed its aspiration to “further introduce our Tequila portfolio” in Canada.
Amber’s Tequila stable comprises the Rooster Rojo and Kah brands, the latter launching in Canada two years ago. Mark Anthony had been handling the company’s brands, including Moskovskaya vodka and Cross Keys gin, in the market since 2013.
When contacted by Global Drinks Intel today, group CMO & Americas MD Pepijn Janssens said: “The reason for the change to the new distribution partner is that we see better opportunities to grow our brands in Canada in this way, as the company is eager to develop its already strong spirits arm. Their interest in building our brands – and thus growing their business – is the reason for the change.”
Founded in 1968, family-run Dandurand operates in all ten of Canada’s provinces.
