Rémy Cointreau has confirmed a change of lead at its Mount Gay rum brand, with Raphaël Grisoni heading to Canada after 14 years.
Grisoni joined the group from Moët Hennessy in 2006, moving up from Northern Europe zone director two years later to become MD of the Mount Gay Distilleries business. As of the beginning of September, a spokesperson told Global Drinks Intel this week, he is now GM & country manager for Canada.
Replacing Grisoni is Antoine Couvreur, who also has a connection with Moët Hennessy, having worked for its LVMH parent for three years between 2006 and 2009. Couvreur has spent the last three years of his near-14-year career with Rémy in Hong Kong as MD of the combined Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan region.
In Rémy’s latest results, for the three months to the end of June, group sales came in 27% on the corresponding period in 2021, setting a strong pace for the rest of the financial year. The next set of numbers will be announced on 25 October.
