Diageo has opened a new distillery and visitor centre for its Aviation American Gin brand in the US.

The facility, which measures just over 3,000 square metres, is located in Portland, where the brand originally hails from. As well as the distillery, the site also houses bottling operations.

Guided tours, which also include a tasting session, are open to book now with the facility open to the public on Thursdays to Sundays.

Diageo inherited Aviation, which was co-owned by actor Ryan Reynolds, through the purchase of Davos Brands two years ago. The transaction, valued at the time as “up to” US$610m, also included the Astral Tequila, Sombra mezcal and Tyku sake brands.

Reynolds, who retained “an ongoing ownership interest”, continues to front marketing activity for Aviation.
