The Tequila category has welcomed another new entrant in the US as the Tequila Eterno Verano brand prepares its arrival.
The three-strong portfolio, which all carry a 40% ABV, is produced using Blue Weber Agave grown in both the highlands and lowlands of Jalisco, and is owned by South Carolina-based Grain & Barrel Spirits. Positioned at the “ultra-premium” end, Eterno Verano, meaning ‘eternal summer’ in Spanish, takes as its inspiration ‘The Endless Summer’, a movie from 1966 about surfing.
The range comprises:
- Blanco – SRP of $49.99 per 750ml bottle
- Reposado – $59.99, aged in whiskey barrels for a minimum of six months, and
- Añejo – $69.99, also aged in whiskey barrels, but for a minimum of 12 months
Markets lined up for this summer include Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas along with an online listing with ReserveBar.com.
As well as the new Tequila, Grain & Barrel also owns the Dixie vodka and Elvis whiskey brands.
Earlier this week, rival brand El Tequileño readied an expansion of its US presence to 44 markets.
