Moet Hennessy’s multi-regional Chandon wine brand has settled in the south of France for a new sparkling rosé to join its portfolio.

Chant des Cigales, unveiled this week, is sourced from eight grape varieties, all of which are grown across the south of the brand owner’s home country. The selected vineyards, all of which are organic, stretch from Perpignan, near France’s border with Spain, and Saint-Tropez to the east.

The grape varieties used are Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Rolle, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Tibouren.

Details of where the new addition will be available as well as its suggested retail price (SRP) were not immediately available.

Moet Hennessy operates six wineries under the Chandon name, in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, India and the US. For Chant des Cigales, the group, which is 35%-owned by Diageo, has employed independent producers and co-operatives in France.
