Beam Suntory’s appointment this week of a new MD at the James B Beam Distilling Co unit has been followed by another internal promotion.
Dave Turo will replace Carlo Coppola as CCO for the US. The announcement comes two days after Coppola’s move to the division responsible for the Jim Beam brand was confirmed.

Turo has been with the group since 2006 when he moved across from Allied Domecq. During that time, he has been national brand manager in the US for the Cruzan rum brand and general sales manager for the ‘East Geographic Business Unit’, based in Miami. He will vacate the GM position for the EGBU at the end of this month.
Reporting in to North America president Greg Hughes, Turo “will be responsible for managing the P&L for Beam Suntory’s US commercial business”.
In results for 2021, posted in February, Beam Suntory’s US sales were up by “high single-digits” on the year prior, contributing to an 11% top-line lift for the group as a whole.
