Anheuser-Busch InBev has followed January’s Canadian release of an alcohol-free version of flagship lager Corona with a European roll-out.
Corona Cero, which hits ten markets in Europe this week, joins Corona Sunbrew 0.0% in the brand’s no-alcohol portfolio. The extension retains the brand owner’s recommended serve of adding a wedge of lime.
Cero debuts in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the UK, where a four-pack of 330ml bottles carries an SRP in the off-premise of GBP4 (US$4.90).
On its launch in Canada at the start of the year, Sunbrew was lined up for a “worldwide launch”. While Sunbrew “contains 30% of the daily value of vitamin D in Canada”, a spokesperson for A-B InBev confirmed to Global Drinks Intel that Corona Cero is not fortified with the vitamin.
“Corona Sunbrew is currently only live in Canada but may be expanding into European markets in the future,” the spokesperson added.
