Moët Hennessy has confirmed two senior internal promotions, which have come about as a result of the pending retirement of its president for Asia & Oceania.

Laurent Morel, who has headed up the two regions for the company since 2018, will step down after 38 years with Moët Hennessy at the start of next month. A subsequent redrawing geographically will see Laurent Boidevezi and Jo Thornton take on additional market responsibilities.

Boidevezi, the current president for Africa & the Middle East, Latin America, Global Travel Retail & Private Sales, will hold the same job title, but for Moët Hennessy Asia Oceania, Japan, GTR & Private Sales. Thornton, meanwhile, will shift across from leading Moët Hennessy Europe to also head operations in Africa & the Middle East.

The pair, both of whom have been with the company since before the turn of the Century, will continue to report in to Jean-Marc Lacave, the group’s executive VP for global distribution.

CEO Philippe Schaus thanked Morel for his time “during an excellent career at Moët Hennessy”.

Earlier this month, the company which is majority owned by LVMH while Diageo has a 35% holding, switched communication leads, welcoming Jean-Martial Ribes from soccer club Paris Saint-Germain.
